What are Asia Miles credit cards?

Asia Miles is the rewards programme of Cathay Pacific. Miles can be used for flights on Cathay and its oneworld partners, seat upgrades, hotels and shopping.

A few cards credit Asia Miles straight to your account. Most earn bank points that you convert to miles later, often in set blocks and sometimes with a fee each time you convert.

Reading earn rates

Hong Kong banks usually quote miles cards as the spend for each mile, such as HK$4 = 1 mile. A card might have one rate for local spend, a better one for foreign currency spend and a bonus on set categories up to a cap. We show each rate as the bank states it.

Getting value from miles

Miles usually go furthest on award flights, especially in premium cabins. Weigh that against the annual fee and any conversion fee. For lounge visits as well as miles, compare airport lounge cards.

Asia Miles credit card FAQs

It is how much you spend to earn one Asia Mile once the bank's points are converted. A lower number is better: HK$4 per mile earns more than HK$6 per mile.
